Our academic members of staff offer an unrivalled breadth of historical, global, and practice-based approaches to the field. In the top ten in the UK for research, the department has a vibrant undergraduate body and hosts the largest postgraduate community in the country.
We recently opened the Caryl Churchill Theatre, replacing the old 'black box' Studio. Designed by architects Foster Wilson, the new three-level theatre seats more than 175 people and is located adjacent to the Georgian house that hosts the majority of the department, the Katharine Worth Building.
