I joined RAW with my husband in February in order to improve my fitness and lose weight. I never would have thought that I would be able to manage the classes but with lots of support from Lydia, Wayne and the rest of the team, I feel that I am improving. The atmosphere is really friendly and the other members have been really welcoming. Highly recommended!

I recommend RAW thoroughly. The staff are brilliant, very attentive and motivating, and they also make sure we're doing the exercises properly. Classes are very hard work, but great fun, and more importantly they make you super fit and lean. I'm fitter now after 9 months of RAW training than I've ever been in my life. And I've been alive for a very long time. :-)

Since joining Raw in august 2013 i have changed my attitude to training so much , after doing my first WOD which was a simple AMRAP and realizing I wasn't as fit as I thought I was, I knew there was more to gym training than just standing around chatting and doing some bench presses! I have lost weight, gained strength and endurance and made some lifetime friends, my skills and passion for strength and conditioning grow more every day and I enjoy being at RAW Fitness and would feel lost without it in my life :)

Nice friendly atmosphere; although I am reasonably unfit (getting fitter!) I never feel self conscious at RAW about my abilities. I like the fact it is different every time.

I’ve been training at RAW with Lydia since the very first night they opened in November 2013. I had heard about strength and conditioning and thought it would be a good way to improve my overall fitness rather than just running which is what I had done before. From the induction onwards I’ve been really impressed with the focus Lydia has placed on good technique - I feel confident that I am learning all the new skills without risking injury.

The first few classes were tough. My body wasn’t used to the exercise and I was having to scale everything. But that was no problem and it was always possible to adjust the workout. The big surprise was how quickly I improved. I noticed it first on press-ups and after a few months my first unassisted pull up! I feel fit, strong and healthy thanks to Lydia.

The atmosphere in classes is great fun. Everyone is really supportive and we all congratulate each other after a workout and get cheered on by anyone who is around. If in doubt come down and give it a go - I highly recommend it.

Before training at RAW I struggled with muscular endurance and fitness. I feel I have made huge improvements in these areas as well as in strength, overall health and coordination. This wouldn't have been possible without the help and guidance from the coaches and fellow members at RAW.

There is always a great atmosphere with regular social and competitive events to keep you motivated. After a couple of months I completed an obstacle course which would have seemed out of my reach before.

They are open long hours and always make sure you get an excellent muscle toning, fat burning workout! The best way to spend an hour of your time!

I love it so much I am using my past qualifications as a sports coach to start coaching strength and conditioning and qualify as a personal trainer. I feel RAW has given me new opportunities and I am hoping to compete at a high level in the next few years.

I must thank Lydia for taking on the thought to be impossible task of getting me in shape.

It is still early days and I can only make it once per week but I have found from day one there is a gym full of facilites needed to take on the task and a coach hell-bent on helping me succeed.

The gym is friendly with a real emphasis on going at your own pace to achieve your goals, which is really what I needed. Membership is reasonably priced and flexible enabling me to chose an option which really suits me.

I realised my progress may be slower than others as I can't train more frequently but I can feel I am getting fitter each week. I no longer get out of breath running up the stairs and it is important to know I am improving my health for myself and the sake of my family and for that I am eternally grateful.

It goes without saying I won't hesitate to recommend RAW and Lydia to my friends, family and contacts.

As the years have gone on and being wrapped up in running a business I have let my weight and fitness levels go to rack and ruin. I decided to do something about it and joined to local leisure centre and have been to gym like that before. After a brief induction you are left to own devices (despite telling you otherwise) and just want to up sell up sell you personal training.

When I came to try RAW with two friends who had similar experiences in the past we soon realised how different it was. The welcome was great and after a thorough warm up we were put through our paces and had a coach for the whole time to watch technique and form.

We now train three times per week and the coaches still give you just as much attention. We work hard within our own ability levels and I have already lost a stone in weight after just six weeks. It's a great environment to work out in and everyone else is really friendly and encouraging, not puffing out their chests and ignoring you.

I would recommend RAW to any age and gender as we can all do with a little help with our health and fitness. If you think you are fit then come down and have a go and see what these guys and girls can do. Inspiring stuff
