Maddox Down Farm is well situated and central for exploring with its area being the perfect playground for doing what you love, whether it be walking the dog, fishing, cycling, eating out, celebrating with friends or just spending time with the family Maddox Down is a great place & destination.
The farm itself has been in the Lerwill Family since the 1500's, with the traditional stone barns converted to our cosy cottages in keeping with the surrounding area. We have 6 cottages that sleep from 2 to 7 people. The Cartlinhay, Granary & Roundhouse have log burners installed for those colder but cosy evenings. On site we have an indoor heated swimming pool, games room complete with a pool table, table tennis, table football and a smaller rugged area with seating for the infants which includes a ball pit, play tent & tunnel & foam hopscotch. Outside we have swings and seating areas where you can relax and take in the views. In the meadow just below the cottages we have a wildlife pond where you can sit and picnic whilst watching the fish and birds. On arrival you will have a complimentary Devonshire cream tea and condiments waiting in your cottage for you. You may also pre order your shopping with Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury’s, all delivering here. There is also a small local shop a mile down the road selling the essentials, as well as our local pub The Pyne Arms approx 1.5 miles down the road serving fantastic food and ales.
