County Motor Works is a new and used car dealership in Essex, founded over 100 years ago by JW Austin. We have new car franchises for Alfa Romeo, Vauxhall and Jeep. Our forecourt is fairly expansive, allowing us to stock a good range of used cars at all times.

It’s easy to spot, because it’s packed with beautiful high-end used cars! We’ve made it our mission to bring you these vehicles for 10% below the prices offered by any other car dealer in Essex.

We run a full complement of after-sale services. Our founder was an engineer and rally driver, who was famously perfectionist (and stubborn) about the standard to which vehicles had to be maintained. We endeavor to emulate and build on the practices and tradition that JW Austin began.

Based in Chelmsford, we are open 7 days a week, and will always be happy to meet you on site and help out with whatever you need.
