My love of food, science and sport goes hand-in-hand and I am passionate about enabling people to live a healthy and fulfilling life. I love encouraging people to eat and enjoy wholesome real food - after all 'you really are what you eat'. It is my belief that many of today's common ailments such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and high cholesterol (to name only a few) can be treated, maintained and managed by eating real and unprocessed food and importantly in an enjoyable way. I love to help people reconnect and develop a healthy relationship with their food. Helping people discover how delicious food can be is important to me and I love to see an improvement in people's physical, emotional and mental health.

I offer a friendly, common sense and realistic approach to healthy eating. I take into account individuals current needs, including their family and other social factors. I will calculate your macro and micro-nutrient needs and assess your body composition. I will then devise an individually tailored eating plan based on your circumstances, personal health goals, likes and dislikes. I am sympathetic but pragmatic and am dedicated to helping you achieve your goals which will make a huge difference to your long term health and vitality. I aim to help de-mystify the often confusing world of nutrition and enable people to enjoy their food while sustaining the healthy body and sporting achievements they desire.

As part of my degree I gained clinical experience and worked closely with a team of NHS dietitians. I delivered seminars to recently diagnosed diabetics, and worked on the wards covering a huge range of nutritional conditions from acid reflux to calculating the nutritional needs of someone needing to be fed through a tube as a result of a stroke or other trauma.
Since graduating from the University of Wales, Institute in Cardiff I have worked as a nutritionist for a collaborative group including Dorset County Council. This included working on many projects throughout Dorset within schools and the wider community. Part of my role was to encourage people to re-connect with real food by growing it, cooking and eating it. I also delivered a variety of seminars to teachers and parents about healthy eating for themselves and their children, including a water in schools project where I ran a campaign to allow children to be able to drink water throughout their school day. I now teach Food and Nutrition to Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 students part time in a local secondary school.

I have a sporting background mainly in competitive swimming and was also a professional, volunteer and competitive lifeguard for several years. I now train and compete in triathlon events and am currently coaching local triathletes to enable them to maximise their training and competitive potential through their physical performance. I firmly believe that nutrition is a crucial element of any sport and for triathletes it is their ‘fourth discipline’.
