First of all, a little bit about us … Glasgow Adoption Centre is ideally situated in the countryside, on the site of what was formerly Cardyke Farm. It is between Robroyston and the tiny village of Auchinloch, but easily accessible from the M80 motorway. The centre can house up to 220 cats, in large pens with outside runs. Since the Centre was opened by “Take the High Road” actress Eileen McCallum in 1993, it has rescued and rehomed thousands of abandoned cats and kittens in the Glasgow area.

The Centre is entirely run by friendly Cats Protection Staff, who have the responsibility for the welfare and re-homing of all the cats and kittens. The staff also rely on help from enthusiastic volunteers. Importantly, they also make valuable contributions on the educational side, by visiting local children's nurseries, schools and "Brownie" packs - encouraging cat welfare at an early age!

All of our cats have been treated to our minimum veterinary standards, meaning that they have been examined by a veterinary surgeon, been vaccinated against flu, enteritis and chlamydia, treated against fleas, roundworm and tapeworm and also leave the centre microchipped. All cats over 4 months adopted from our centre will have been neutered before leaving our care. All cats from our centre also leave with four weeks free insurance cover with Petplan.
