The Carpenters, the oldest public house in Newport is recorded to have been established in Medieval 1403, it is said there are still cells in the foundations!

We have 10 LCD screens in HD and a big screen projector so you can enjoy every sporting occasion in the comfort of The Carpenters. While on the sports theme the pub pays homage to 16 of Newport’s finest rugby & football greats via especially commissioned paintings.

And as of 2014 we'll be the only venue in the city to show all of the 2014/15 NFL season with OVER 85 regular season games shown, plus the playoffs and finishing with the Super Bowl.

We have 2 pool tables along with a mezzanine floor for a quiet zone adn topped off with a 10,000 track rock jukebox.
