Who we are
We are like-minded souls who share a desire for all of mankind to enjoy happiness, harmony, health, peace and prosperity in this earthly life, recognising that even better things await us in the next and bringing evidence that spiritual life continues after life in the physical body has ceased. All are welcome here irrespective of lifestyle, sexuality, colour, race, creed or age – indeed, our children are our future and we hope that they may take us forward as they develop.

How we got here
In the 1960’s, our church was a modest, prefabricated building which was later amalgamated with the John Street church and relocated in new premises that were purpose-built in Thompson’s Lane, in part using funds from the amalgamation and from the generous bequest of two of our members Mr. & Mrs. Hines. The church continues to develop and grow, as is evidenced by its relocation in late 2008 to Myers Memorial Hall at the premises of the former Methodist Church on Newmarket Road as part of Cambridge Spiritualist Centre (CSC) – click here for a map.

What it’s all about
Spiritualism is a religion – though we see it more as a way of life – that has been around in one form or another ever since mankind has been on earth, though it has been formally acknowledged only since the late nineteenth century. Other religions have their strict rules and regulations – Thou Shalt, Thou Shalt Not etc – but spiritualism is based on a set of simple, straightforward notions or principles, as followed by the Spiritualists’ National Union (SNU) and that are open to personal interpretation. We see it as being entirely the individual’s choice as to how he or she should live his or her life; in fact, ‘Personal Responsibility’ is one of those principles.

What we do
At CSC, you will find not only the usual Sunday Divine Service and regular Healing but a range of activities including Awareness, Development and Meditation Groups, Evenings of Mediumship with guest Speakers and Demonstrators, various Workshops and a range of Social Events throughout the year. You don’t have to share our beliefs and there is no pressure on anyone; all we ask is that you enter with an open mind and with respect.
